CCTV systems are now considered to be an integral part of most security systems and provide a vital health and safety solution. Pioneer security provides design, installation, service and integration of video surveillance solutions, including all key systems components and concepts.

Now, in the modern digital age, recording systems can run for up to 90 days without manual intervention and it is even possible to capture and retain footage for up to 36 months with minimum intervention. Remote CCTV Camera monitoring can include everything from power supply status and equipment temperatures to alarms and CCTV cameras. This can significantly reduce the costs of security for companies which have traditionally relied on 24 hour on-site security personnel with monitored CCTV Systems.

We provide CCTV in Dublin and CCTV throughout Ireland. If you would like some more information on CCTV or would like a, free assessment of your existing systems, please call Pioneer Security on 012990800 or email System Design Team for both Home CCTV and Commercial CCTV Systems.

The Many Aspects of CCTV

CCTV Analogue Cameras

Most closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems use an analogue video camera that transmits signals via coaxial cable to a single central location for recording, and viewing. While the recent trend is a push towards IP network cameras and megapixel cameras, analogue CCTV camera systems are still widely used, and still offer a cost-effective answer to many common surveillance scenarios

CCTV Internal domes and overt cameras

The deterrent effect of visible cameras should not be overlooked. Body cameras with a well chosen lens can produce superior quality pictures. Home CCTV systems and Commercial CCTV Systems benefit from the cameras being clearly visible as a deterrent to vandals.

CCTV Covert cameras

Covert cameras can be hidden in most everyday devices and have a vital role to play in detecting fraudulent claims and general acts of dishonesty. These cameras are often used in conjunction with till scan.

Till Scan Camera systems

Till Scan uses a covert camera and a till interface unit to record visually the items on the counter while simultaneously displaying the till roll.(see the picture opposite) When a customer places an item on the counter it is recorded, when the till operator enters the price for the item it is recorded on side of the screen showing both the items and the till roll on the same picture. This picture is recorded and can be viewed and searched at a later date.

Specific items which you worried about can be flagged and then a quick search for them done at the end of the day. The number of these items sold can then be compared to the stock on the shelves. Many shop keepers have saved their businesses by using these systems.

External Fixed CCTV Cameras and External Pan Tilt / Zoom Cameras

Pan,Tilt and Zoom ( PTZ ) cameras are ideal for wide-area surveillance. They give operators the ability to remotely control pan, tilt, and zoom functions to follow activity and to zoom in for detailed monitoring. This is an area where analogue CCTV cameras fall behind their IP camera counterparts. With IP cameras, the pan/tilt/zoom functions are controlled manually or automatically and delivered over a single network cable, while analogue cameras require additional wiring to perform similar functionality. Far Fully Monitored camera systems with audio response see our monitored cameras page.

CCTV Monitors

Monitors come in a variety of shapes and sizes also different formats, and are chosen to suit the location and quality of picture required.

Digital Video Recorders(DVR)

Most DVRs provide users with the option to remotely view live or recorded video over the Internet via a browser, even on a smart phone, and thanks to the utilisation either mpeg4 or H.264 compression, archive the video footage on the multiple hard drives. This footage may be required as evidence in the event of a robbery or other event.

IP and Megapixel Cameras

These camera systems require considerable expertise and care. The results can be excellent but there is an increased cost in achieving this. With mega pixel camera systems it is possible to zoom in on a recorded picture and identify a level of detail not achievable with analogue camera systems.

The degree of detail that the camera can capture is measured in pixels. The more pixels a camera has, the more detail it can capture and the better the picture quality. Megapixel cameras are ideal point of sales monitoring with a resolution high enough to identify the money and goods as they are handed over. Mega pixel cameras are also ideal for vehicle registration identification especially for moving vehicles. Due to the large pictures size the system requires greatly increased storage (hard drives) and increased processing power to archive the video footage.

IP Technology

What are the benefits of an IP System?

IP CCTV systems offer a far greater image resolution than traditional analogue and HD systems, giving you the greatest possible quality of a given event.

Other Benefits are:

  • Quality Images day and night
  • Monitor Large areas in greater detail to protect your business from theft and claims
  • Record, view and manage your footage from your desktop, smart phone or tablet.
